52a Maserati number placement

Postby egarc » Tue Oct 10, 2017 10:34 pm

Hello,

I am new to this board and to collecting matchbox cars in general. I am looking for more information on a Matchbox 52a Maserati 4 CLT I have.
I have seen some variations, but none with the number 52 behind the driver (I have attached a ink with the image). Is this an error?
I would really appreciate it if anyone had any additional information.

Thank you,

It's generally considered to be an error. While a few do exist, I am unaware of them commanding much (if any) of a premium with regards to price. That has nothing to do with the non-standard location and everything to do with the ease of removing and relocating the decal by those who wish to obtain your money via fraud.
